JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position with the Orange County Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is primarily responsible for certifying potential low risk participants to the program and for providing nutrition education and breastfeeding education. Travel may be required, in the absence of a county vehicle, employees are responsible for securing reliable transportation to fulfill their duties effectively during the workday.

· Interviews and screens participants for demographics and WIC income eligibility. Completes required FL-WiSE WIC computer system screens, temporary certification and ineligibility forms, reviews immunization records as per program requirements. Operates FL-WiSE computer system and related equipment including printers, scanners, pin pads, and network printers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING UTILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT, REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Knowledge of WIC program policy regarding financial eligibility. Ability to communicate effectively and accurately. Knowledge of WIC program policies. Ability to work independently. Ability to use a computer and computer peripherals effectively.
Knowledge of FL WiSE computer system and WIC program policies and procedures. Knowledge of inventory practices. Knowledge of basic math. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to record information accurately.
Knowledge of proper weighing and measuring techniques. Knowledge of WIC program procedures.
Skill in calibrating and using medical testing equipment. Ability to keep accurate records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Willing to learn to perform hemoglobin testing (blood tests) on clients.
1-3 years of verifiable customer service experience.
A current, valid Driver's License. If out of state, a Florida Driver's license is required within 30 days of hire.
Requires the incumbent to travel to other WIC locations through out Orange County. In the absence of a county vehicle, you must have access to a personal vehicle or reliable transportation.
Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a specal needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threat involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Emergency duties may also include in-state and/or out-or-state deployment.
