This position is responsible for professional work designed to ensure that licensed out of home care services offered by and/or regulated by the Department of Children and Families are of the highest possible quality. The emphasis in the Family Safety Programs to promote the safety, permanence and well-being of the children we serve. The incumbent in this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 65-C 45, 46, 15 and 16, Florida Administrative Code.

This position is for a Regional Licensing Specialist for the entire central region to include circuit 10, circuit 9, circuit 18, and circuit 5. 

Completing the on-site visits, gathering of data, reviewing personnel and client files and upon completion submitting the packet for licensure.

Reviews and processes closure notices on foster homes and agencies and initiates action as required by F.S. 120.60 when applicable.

Works with CBC's to review licensing complaints or incidents involving violation of licensing standards. Participates in staffing regarding the complaints to determine proper action. Takes part in the approval of any corrective action plan regarding the foster home or agency.

Provides technical assistance, consultation and training to CBC's, licensing providers, child placing and child caring agencies for interpretation of licensing standards and any changes in operating procedure, administrative code or statutory requirements and other concerns about foster care licensing.
