MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willing and able to work with active infectious disease patients.
- Minimum one (1) year of verifiable clerical experience within a medical or office setting.
- One (1) year experience working in an EMR system.
- This position requires you to be able to kneel, bend, lift and carry a maximum of 25 pounds.
- Emergency Duty.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAMPLE JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Interview refugee health clients, review and verify appropriate documentation
- Complete paperwork/encounter form for each client, maintain non-medical case management files
- Register and entering data for each client into electronic surveillance and medical records systems
- Receive and complete referrals for services and document in electronic surveillance and medical records systems
- Explain information and recommendations regarding refugee health program requirements to clients
- Answers telephone inquiries from clients regarding information and questions about refugee health program requirements.
- Conduct follow up with clients to ensure appointments are kept and processes are completed.
Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING UTILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT, REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain/create effective working relationship with others.
- Must possess knowledge of general office practice.
- Ability to accurately fill in clinic forms.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Possesses an understanding of the confidentiality policy and puts the concept into practice.
- Must possess advanced computer skills with the following Programs: Windows, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Excel.
- Ability to accurately enter data into an electronic medical record system.
- Must possess knowledge of general office practice.
- Ability to effectively handle sensitive information and only share sensitive information with those that have ‘a need to know.
