POSITION DETAILS

This advertisement is for an Other Personal Services (OPS) position located in APD’s Central Region In Orlando, FL.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities are required to demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service. This includes, but is not limited to, always acting in a responsive, professional, courteous manner with the employees, customers, and public we serve at all times.

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

This is a professional position responsible for medical case management and consultation throughout the Region.  The incumbent works in an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary fashion within the construct of the regional structure. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, clinical oversight of medical case reviews, medication administration training and monitoring, ICF/DD admissions, eligibility review, and other health related quality controls.  Works collaboratively with state office medical/nursing team.  An employee in this position may be required to drive and/or travel in order to execute these duties in the client’s home or place of service delivery and is responsible, but not limited to, performing the following:

 

Serves as medical case manager to train and monitor Medication Administration Rule FAC 65G-7.  Services include but not limited to coordination of approved RN trainers, monitoring compliance in licensed group/foster homes, technical assistance and training for support coordinators, supported living coaches, all providers and program office staff.

 

Coordinates responsibilities of OPS-Medical Case Management staff to complete medication administration monitoring, assignments, reports and follow-up, individual health reviews and eligibility.

 

Serves as coordinator for individual’s health related supports and services review, follow-up on reason for illness, injury or accident per case selection methodology or request.  

 

Performs all ICF/DD facility admissions to determine level of care, maintain ICF/DD database, represents Agency for Persons with Disabilities at ICF/DD licensure surveys.

 

Provides consultation on eligibility reviews upon request.

 

Completes all reports of death per requirement, and mortality reports upon request.

 

Represents Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Hearings, meetings, and client staffing where Medicaid issues are involved.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to: Ability to provide in-service training on medical and health care services, patient assessments, and utilization practices. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrate Skills in: Utilize Computer Equipment/software and analyze data.  Skills to provide good customer service
  • Knowledge of: Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques. Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must maintain Registered Professional Nurse Licensure in accordance with Florida Statute 464
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have valid driver’s license or other efficient means of transportation to travel for work proposes.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
