MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable customer service experience.
  • Minimum 6 months verifiable experience working with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Minimum 6 months verifiable experience working in public health or healthcare setting where you were responsible for managing calls, providing information, or supporting client services.
  • Emergency Duty

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish preferred.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for operating telephone systems to manage incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. The Call Center Staff serves as the first point of contact for the public, providing accurate information and directing inquiries in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner. Coordinates and schedules appointments.

Answers Incoming Calls: Serves as the first point of contact by answering incoming telephone calls in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner. Screens and directs calls appropriately, ensuring prompt and accurate communication with clients, staff, and external partners.

Provides Program and Service Information: Offers detailed and accurate information regarding Health Department programs, services, and procedures. Immunizations, NCF/Physicals/Vision Screenings, Family Planning & Prenatal Services, Refugee Health/TB, Vital Records & Medical Records, Dental Services, STD/STI Clinic, Sunshine Care Clinic, Epidemiology & Environmental Health, other disease investigations Responds to inquiries and provides referrals to appropriate internal departments or external community resources and agencies as needed.

Schedules Clinical Appointments: Coordinates and schedules appointments for a variety of clinical services, including immunizations, family planning, and other public health programs. Ensures all scheduling is completed accurately and in accordance with clinic protocols and client needs.

Assists Departmental Projects:  Collaborates with various departments to assist with special projects, outreach efforts, and administrative tasks as assigned (e.g. appointment reminder calls etc.).

Completes Documentation: Accurately completes all required forms, logs, and reports in a timely, legible, and organized manner both electronically and manually per policies and procedures. Adheres to FDOH policies for security of client data and security systems.

Training Compliance: Actively participates in all required agency trainings and ensures completion prior to established deadlines. Stays informed of updates to policies, procedures, and best practices relevant to job duties.

              

Other Duties: Serves 1st-floor Registration Intake Front Desk, as a backup role.
