Job Description Overview:

A Legal Assistant plays a vital role in supporting attorneys and legal teams by performing a wide range of administrative and legal support tasks. This position helps ensure the efficient operation of the office by maintaining organization, accuracy, and timeliness in all aspects of case management. While Legal Assistants are not authorized to practice law, they contribute significantly to the preparation and handling of legal matters.

 

Legal Assistants are responsible for administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling office correspondence. They also assist with drafting legal documents, tracking critical deadlines, coordinating court hearings, and maintaining communication with clients.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

 

  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Good communication skills when interacting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency in all communications.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems independently and effectively under pressure
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team of attorneys, investigators, and legal support staff
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in accordance with Florida Bar guidelines
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
