MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years of verifiable clerical/administrative work experience.
- At least two years of verifiable customer service experience.
- Verifiable experience performing cashiering duties (handling cash/credit card payments and balancing a cash drawer).
- Willing and able to perform high-volume, repetitive data entry daily for 8 hours.
- Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Willing to physically come into the office daily to perform the duties & responsibilities of the position.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides direct support to the Environmental Health Section of the Orange County Health Department and is responsible for customer service and staff support. Primary duties include; entering applications, inspection and evaluation data into the Environmental Health and other Databases for various Environmental Health Programs to include; but not limited to; Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems, Biomedical Waste, Body Piercing, 64E-8 Commercial Drinking Water Systems, Private Wells, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Mobile Home Parks, Migrant Labor Camps, Swimming-pools, and Tanning Facilities . Prepares and send letters to well owners indicating the results of water sampling along with disinfection letters for bad samples. Retrieves and schedules final inspection reports from automated inspection system called in by homeowners or registered septic tank contractors daily, verify payments for timed and re-inspections. Processes faxes, receives, and routes telephone calls for department staff. Provides basic information to the public pertaining to Environmental Health Programs via telephone or in person. Enters cash/checks or money order/credit card payments into Environmental Health Database. Performs cashier duties; processes payment check number/cash/money order and amount of payment into Environmental Health Database, ensures all checks are stamped for deposit and made out to Orange County Health Department. Send out invoices needed for annual permits. Distributes and stamps incoming and outgoing mail for all environmental health employees. Maintain accurate files for all environmental health programs. Retrieves and prepares all environmental health records from files for archiving. Sets up new files and closes out files for all environmental health programs as needed. Assists in routine file maintenance and management for all paper and electronic files.
Back-up duties include processing Foodborne Illness Complaints and Rabies reports and scanning.
Complete and return all paperwork pertaining to job duties legibly and in proper order. This would also include timely submittal of timesheets, mileage, and EARS.
Performs all other duties as required.
Maintains confidentiality and security of records as specified by department regulations and laws.
