This position will lead and manage the Turnpike Technology Support team throughout Florida’s Turnpike including North and South Turnpike, responsible for the installation, support and maintenance of desktop technology equipment at all Turnpike facilities and remote locations.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Leads and manages the Turnpike Technology Support team throughout Florida’s Turnpike including North and South Turnpike, responsible for the installation, support and maintenance of desktop technology equipment at all Turnpike facilities and remote locations. This includes configuration of the systems, loading of software, planning & maintaining records of all new installations resident on the Turnpike Enterprise networks and systems; Coordinates all activities involving responding, addressing, resolving, and escalation of reported technology service or usability issues.

 

Conducts staff assessment evaluations and professional development plans to identify training needs for users and Office of Information Technology (OIT) Department staff. Makes recommendations for annual training required for department staff. Advises and works closely with the District Information Systems Manager on the coordination of information technology activities, projects and initiatives. Ensures contractor and consultant technology team members an opportunity to participate on task teams, provides input and represents Turnpike Office of Information Technology (TP-OIT)'s interest and concerns. Interprets policies, procedures and rules as needed, providing comments and/or communicating changes to Turnpike's managers and users.

 

Ensures procedural documentation originating in the OIT Department is up to date and accurate. Participates and leads the team in the adoption of Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) standards, architecture and technology, and roadmap.

 

Develops a quarterly technology assessment report that identifies TP-OIT response time intervals, operational availability and service resource priorities; confers with, defines and assists office supervisors in the implementation of established plans to ensure timely processing and completion of responsibilities. The report should include identifying TP-OIT's ability to adhere to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) / Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) approved Service Level Agreements.

 

Coordinates with OIT Operations for system access and specialized security to State employees, contractors, and consultant personnel as authorized for the technology environment including granting, auditing, and terminating, access to technology environment based on the Department and Turnpike's policies and procedure for use of technology resources. Participates and supports the Department throughout the necessary audits and review processes. Ensures the department compliance with all current and future requirements triggering the necessary actions to address any potential gap. Works closely with Department’s Central Office and the Tolls Data Center Department on the coordination of information technology activities, projects, and initiatives.

 

Serves as a member of the Department's Work Station Support Team (WSST) and other service oriented groups, attending mandated meetings. Such participation and duties includes technology research, evaluation, deployment and development of industry products. Confers with, defines, and assists TP-OIT management in the implementation of an established plan to ensure timely processing and completion of responsibilities.

Other Job-Related Requirements:

  • Overnight and regular travel within Orange, Osceola, Polk, Hillsborough, and surrounding counties are required. Occasional Travel to Panhandle, Fort Pierce, and Palm Beach County. The incumbent must be available during off-duty hours.
