REQUIREMENTS

 

Must have a current Florida RN License. Must have at least one year of experience in a clinical setting. Must have experience with electronic health records.  Must have a valid driver's license.  Must have computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel, Internet Browser’s, Outlook. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing preferred.  At least three years of experience performing nursing duties in a clinic settting preferred.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Overview- This is a highly responsible, flexible, detail-oriented position which requires the nurse to participate in CHD programs, including but not limited to: Immunization, Sexually Transmitted Disease screening and treatment, HIV, Aids Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and Hepatitis screening & management (when applicable). May assist with the Tuberculosis Control Services Unit if needed. The work will be performed under the direct supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor and the indirect supervision of the Licensed Providers (MD, ARNP, PA, etc.), Director of Nursing and other Administrative staff.

 

General Duties: Triaging of clients who are walk-in, scheduled and via telephone, to obtain complete medical history, Ht/Wt, Vital signs, administering medications as ordered by provider, venipuncture, specimen collection, Timely, accurate, complete and professional documentation Health Management System (HMS), ability to input, update, extract and view information in applicable software programs as it relates to client care, ensure all services are coded correctly on billing sheet and charges are entered timely, works closely with clerical nursing staff to share information, evaluate and improve services to ensure quality service to clients, completes family planning reports as necessary, provides counseling for pre/post-test risk assessments as needed, assist in data collection, extraction or auditing to remain compliant with state regulations regarding the CHD, completes follow-up calls when clients miss appointments or need further communication or education regarding their recent visit, provides exit interviews with the clinic clients for counseling and health education services, assists with follow-ups for abnormal lab results and case management, provides education to clients regarding current disease processes in manner consistent with their learning ability, coordinates with outside facilities, as well as ancillary departments within the CHD, for interdisciplinary follow-up, referral and individual needs not offered in clinic services (Breast & Cervical, School Health, etc.).

 

Function independently as licensed provider to provide immunizations and treatments as outlined in established Nursing protocols.

 

Assist Senior Nurse supervisor with tasks such as medication ordering, inventory, and supply management.

 

Participate and assist in community outreach events, activities and/or health fairs as coordinated by the Senior Nurse Supervisor.

 

Perform other related duties as directed.
