Your Specific Responsibilities: 

Ensures customers are fully registered in Employ Florida with resumes posted and viewable by businesses utilizing the system. Assists customers with setting up Virtual recruiter in Employ Florida.  Identify, screen and refers qualified applicants to available job postings.

Provides candidates information on other services available, to include but not limited to, career advising, interview preparation, salary guidance and offer negotiations. Provide complete, accurate and inspiring information to candidates about the company and position. Utilize internal and external databases to identify potential candidates. Provide presentations on various topics to internal and external customers.

Match, prescreen and prepares participant to appropriate job vacancies leading to employment. Responsible for ensuring that customer completes all pre-requisites for employment including testing if necessary. Ultimately responsible for referring applicants to job openings they are qualified for. Record all services and applicable case notes in appropriate management information systems.

Interview and assesses customers to obtain information on work history, training, education, and job skills to determine appropriate employment goals; understand and utilize results from various assessment tools and interview information to assist participants in making career and re-employment decisions; provide useful and relevant labor market information to include but not limited to, opportunities, qualifications; and expected pay in various industries and occupations to help customers develop realistic employment career goals. Help customers update resumes, letters of introduction, and thank you notes. Show customers how to research companies they are interested in working with.

Uses all available resources to help customers make career and job search decisions. Reviews customers’ resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge relative to position requirements.

Primary duties include answering incoming calls via phone and chat. Transferring calls and responding to chat messages.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role, especially in switchboard or live chat environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with data entry systems.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Pay: 

$17.00 per hour

The Work You Will Do:       

This position provides switchboard support responsible for operating the main telephone switchboard and providing customer support to customers on the CareerSource Brevard’s Online Chat.

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
  • Directs calls to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Takes accurate messages and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Handles basic inquiries and provides general information about programs & services.
  • Online Chat Support:
  • Responds to customer inquiries via live chat in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner.
  • Assist customers with their questions and service information.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved queries to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain professional and consistent tone and style in all digital communications.
