MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or its equivalent.
Possession of a valid Driver License.

JOB DUTIES
General Statement: Position will process fruit fly trap contents as part of Florida’s fruit fly exclusion and detection program.
Identification of fruit fly species with use of dissection microscope (training provided).
Detection of presence of florescent dyes with use of ultraviolet light.
Data entry of findings into computer system.
Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic laboratory safety procedures.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Skill with data management, data entry, clerical and computer preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability using a microscope and specimen sorting.
