Candidates for said position must be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar and not a current law student or certified legal intern awaiting bar results.  Beginning minimum salary is $70,000 annually.  Salary is negotiable based on experience. 

 

Description of Position

This is a position as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of Public Defender, 14th Judicial Circuit.  Our circuit covers Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties.  This position is in our Bay County (Panama City) office.  Communication skills, critical thinking skills, and an interest in courtroom litigation are required.  You will work both independently and as a team member.  You will have professional interaction with office staff, prosecuting attorneys, defendants and the public.  In-office attendance is required.
