Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a professional position which supportse that of the licensed Nutrition staff by providing nutrition assessment, counseling and education to clients on this multi-county agency.

Will certify clients for participation in the Women’s, Infants and Children (WIC) program in accordance with policies of the state WIC program and regulations stated in DHM 150-24.  Provides nutrition education on a group or individual basis in the areas of infant, childhood, prenatal and postnatal (including breastfeeding) nutrition to promote the development of dietary practices beneficial to health. 

Will develop, monitor, and evaluate nutrition care plans for any individual clients not at medical high risk.  

Will follow policies and procedures for collection, entry and documentation of required data.  Will operate automated office equipment according to recommendations and regulations. 

Will assist and support the professional nutritionist staff in breastfeeding promotion and other specified nutrition related service areas.  Will also assist clerical staff when needed.  

Will select, create and evaluate nutrition education materials. 

Will coordinate nutrition education services for assigned clients and make referrals for appropriate services.  

Will accurately complete all forms such as Employee Activity Reports, client and activity documentation, leave and attendance records, travel, etc. within required timeframes. 

Will attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training and other professional and staff development activities. 

Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:

Minimum - Bechelor's of Science Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition.  Valid Driver's License.

Preferred - Computer knowledge.
