The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children ages 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. POSITION DETAILS

This advertisement is for an Other Personal Services (OPS) position located in APD’s Northwest Region In Panama City, FL.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities are required to demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service. This includes, but is not limited to, always acting in a responsive, professional, courteous manner with the employees, customers, and public we serve at all times.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

This position is a professional position responsible for working collaboratively with behavior analyst providers as well as with other APD staff and providers. Responsible for working in an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary fashion within the construct of the regional structure. This includes, but is not limited to, state office senior behavior analyst/designee, regional contracted behavior analyst, contracted providers, and other community providers/stakeholders.

 

Provides technical assistance and training to Medicaid Waiver support coordinators, APD NW region staff, ADT and group home staff, regarding effective behavioral intervention, laws, rules and procedures for working with Agency for Persons with Disabilities consumers.

 

Assists the current Local Review Committee chairman with meetings in the Panama City area. Reviews LRC reports from the Panama City meeting. Submits use of reactive strategies reports to APD State office as scheduled per APD data management system.

 

Provides training to APD providers on the use of reactive strategies.

 

Participates in consumer staffing for health and safety concerns, and residential planning.

 

Reviews, make recommendations and completes report related to crisis waiver enrollment requests to include; completing a documentation review, making phone calls, gathering information, and scheduling visits as needed. Preparing a report that includes justification for approval or details related to why denied within seven (7) calendar days of request from Agency delegated staff.

 

Completes Behavior Analysis Service Eligibility report every six months for consumers requesting or receiving behavior assistant services by conducting a documentation review to include reviewing the Functional Assessment, Behavior Analysis Service Plan (BASP), and other required documents. Provide recommendations to include the justification for service or denial of services and enter this information into APD data management system.

 

Completes Behavior Analysis Service Eligibility report annually for consumers requesting or receiving 1:1 ADT service ratio by conducting a documentation review to include reviewing the Functional Assessment, Behavior Analysis Service Plan(BASP), and other required documents. Provide recommendations to include the justification for service or denial of services and enter this information into APD data management system.

 

Completes Behavior Analysis Service Eligibility report annually for consumers requesting or receiving Residential Habilitation Behavior Focus by conducting a documentation review to include reviewing the Functional Assessment, Behavior Analysis Service Plan (BASP), and other required documents. Provide recommendations to include the justification for service or denial of services and enter this information into APD data management system.

Completes Behavior Analysis Service Eligibility report annually for consumers requesting or receiving Residential Habilitation Intensive Behavioral services by conducting a documentation review to include reviewing the Functional Assessment, Behavior Analysis Service Plan (BASP), and other required documents. Provide recommendations to include the justification for service or denial of services and enter this information into APD data management system.

Provides follow-up on abuse report, and behavior related incident reports for consumers residing in Northwest Region and entering that information into incident management system (IMS).

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to: evaluate and analyze data. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to behavior analysis. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.  Ability to travel.

Demonstrate Skills in: Conducting reviews of behavior analysis documentation, making recommendations, providing technical assistance, training providers and Agency staff on laws, rules, and procedures related to behavior analysis.

Knowledge of: the principles and techniques of behavior analysis. Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of training or instruction.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

 

Certification by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board that is current and in good standing as a Board Certificated Behavior Analysis (BCBA), Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), Florida Certified Behavior Analyst (FL-CBA).

 

Valid Driver's License or other efficient means of transportation and willing to travel for work purposes.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
