MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a valid Florida Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be fluent in the English language: reading, writing, speaking.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening and Drug test.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of long-term care specific to resident rights, quality of life, quality of care, infection controls. Ability to maintain professional etiquette when dealing with residents’ family and with staff. Ability to deal with general input and output computer functions. Knowledge of nursing assessments. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND EXPECTATIONS:
Incumbent is responsible to provide direct Nursing care to residents on an assigned unit for the Veteran's Nursing Home of Florida and maintain a valid Florida Nursing Assistant certificate.
Provide the assistance necessary when giving residents the following Activities of Daily Living Nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing and grooming; hair and nail care; shaving; toileting; eating and drinking; mobility.
Perform restorative nursing measures.
Perform simple nursing measures such as but not limited to: applying binders, making occupied and unoccupied beds, changing linen, etc. Respond to resident’s requests and needs.
Complete required documentation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
