Join the State Attorney’s Office for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida as an Investigator I!  Our office is responsible for the prosecution of all crimes committed in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties.  We are seeking sworn law enforcement officers who are responsible for the investigative and logistical support to Assistant State Attorneys in their preparation and prosecution of criminal cases. Additionally, these officers are involved in major case investigations, multiagency task forces and assist local law enforcement upon request.

Our Investigators evaluate evidence of investigations, conduct criminal investigations, attend and assist at crime scene investigations, perform investigations for the Grand Jury, prepare and execute arrest and search warrant affidavits, make arrests on probable cause, capias, or warrant, execute search warrants and serve arrest warrants, subpoenas, and summons, interview victims, witnesses, and suspects, locate, coordinate, and provide transportation for victims and witnesses, and provide security as needed.

 

Entry level annual salary for Investigators is $50,000.00 commensurate with education and experience.  Benefits include State of Florida employee retirement and insurance options, paid holidays and paid leave.

 

Employment will require professional interaction with the public, law enforcement staff and office staff. Applicant must be able to work independently and as a team member.
