The mission of the Office of Information Technology at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support the department's strategic goals and operational needs. The Office of Information Technology aims to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and support the FDC's mission to create a safer Florida for its citizens.

 

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Liaison and Problem Solver: Serve as a liaison to internal and external partners, maintaining open communication and working relationships to solve problems and make decisions effectively.
  • Equipment and Data Management: Regularly create and update statewide equipment status reports, research and update equipment and warranty information, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely receipts, invoices, and payments.
  • Policy and Procedure Evaluation: Review and identify administrative policies, procedures, and guidelines, evaluate their impact on operations, and recommend appropriate actions to resolve issues.
  • Administrative and Project Support: Provide general support for communications, project management, invoice processing, and other tasks, including updating website information, preparing reports, and managing contracts.
  • Confidentiality and Customer Service: Handle sensitive information with discretion, provide quality customer service, and perform as a personnel liaison for Field Technology Services, ensuring all training and programs are completed and documented timely.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
