School Based Health Clinics Program Manager

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for managing the School-Based Health Clinics at Northeast, Gibbs, Boca Ciega, Pinellas Park, and Largo High Schools and supervising assigned staff. The incumbent will perform duties under the direction of the Clinical Health Services Director.  Responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.

 

  • Serves as liaison and develops and maintains collaborative relationships with school-based health services partners, funders and service providers including the Juvenile Welfare Board, Suncoast Center, and Pinellas County Schools.
  • Communicates applicable information to supervisor, contract manager, clinic team, clients and families, and program funders and partners
  • Promotes clinics and services through resource development and distribution and presentations to schools, principals, school health advisory committees, and other partners
  • Manages clinic service areas, equipment, supplies and supporting inventories
  • Monitors the clinic flow and makes all required adjustments to maintain efficiency
  • Monitors the capacity and demand of the clinics and evaluates the productivity of clinic and staff
  • Monitors data and documentation to ensure the highest quality of care and appropriate documentation in the electronic health record and funder database
  • Responsible for budget preparation and monitoring for School Based Health Clinics
  • Serves as a contract manager with duties that may include preparing, negotiating, reviewing, routing, monitoring and processing invoices for assigned contracts to ensure compliance with Federal, local and/or state guidelines.
  • Develops and implements program quality assurance criteria and tools
  • Develops and implements program procedures
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on program performance measures and outcomes
  • Oversees the placement, orientation, and training of residents of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital residency program’s adolescent medicine rotation in the School-Based Health Clinics and St. Petersburg Health Department STD clinic. Serves as liaison to the program’s Medical Education Coordinator and the St. Petersburg Health Department clinic manager.
  • Fosters effective community partnerships to meet the health care needs of the adolescent community.
  • Actively participates in health initiatives in the community.
  • Assists with grants, reports, meetings and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains 24-hour availability for emergency duty and provides after-hours, weekend and holiday coverage as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5or more years of supervisory experience
  • 5 or more years of experience managing clinic operations
  • Program management experience
  • Experience working with the adolescent population
  • Experience working within a public health setting
