MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. 
  • Successful completion of a Level II background screening, including but not limited to, finger printing and drug testing.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a long-term care or hospital environment. 
  • Recent experience of at least one (1) year in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working with plumbing, HVAC, and electrical equipment.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent. Incumbent in this position will perform troubleshooting, repair, and document preventative maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical conditions of the buildings do not deteriorate.  Uses tools, equipment, test, and diagnostic devices as needed to complete assigned duties.   Assist the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus of safety and accident prevention throughout the facility.
  • Maintain, alter, troubleshoot or repair electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing systems, and equipment to include closed loop heating and cooling systems, food service equipment and laundry equipment.  Use tools, equipment, test, and diagnostic devices as required.
  • Install, maintain, or repair electric motors, motor starters, control circuits, pumps, values, lavatories, water closets, sewer lines, potable water lines and other sanitary fixtures.
  • Perform a variety of construction related duties such as cement and carpentry work, light welding, and the repair replacement of floor coverings.
  • Inspects and maintains records on various equipment including chillers, boilers, refrigeration, and fire protection equipment.  Assists in investigations and repairs of equipment failures and safety hazards when possible.
  • Must be available, if requested by management, to respond to disasters such as Hurricanes affecting the facility.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
