Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a registered nursing position, under the supervision of the Executive Community Health Nursing Director. Duties and responsibilities performed may include, but is not limited to obtaining vital signs, preparing the client for exams, administration of medications, obtaining a health history, providing health education, performing risk assessments, and collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. Nursing duties are provided according to agency policy. Performance is evaluated based upon observation of work performed, conferences, reports, and program outcomes. Frequent communication with supervisor about performance is expected and will result in a detailed performance evaluation. Travel required.
Works in an integrated clinic performing duties such as, but not limited to, the administration of immunizations and medications, performing venipunctures, obtaining specimens for laboratory testing, obtaining a health history, provide health education, conduct risk assessments related to domestic violence, lead, HIV and TB exposure. Communicates in a pleasant and professional manner to the client and staff.
Observes patient symptoms, and reactions to treatment. Provides documentation and updates in the electronic medical record. Provides education and counseling to the client that is appropriate for his/her understanding. Assists provider in clinic.
Works in collaboration with other members of the health care team to provide quality care in an effective manner, which meets the client’s health care needs. Serves as a resource to other staff and the community. Responsible for completing assigned work on time. Makes referrals and follows actions as directed by provider.

Security/Information Access: This position has the “Need to Know” for the following information sets: Immunization records, medical records, WIC records, pharmacy records, Healthy Start records, and billing records.
Performs other job-related duties as delegated by the nursing supervisor as required in support of the Agency’s vision and mission. Participates in workshops, in services, conferences, meetings and other activities related to public health. Participates in cross training and staff development activities for the purpose of career development. May be called upon to work in disaster shelters in time of natural disasters/emergencies and perform emergency work as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possesses the ability to manage and control emotional reactions and conflict in a productive manner, as well as relationship building skills. Communicates effectively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Employees are capable of computer functions such as using programs, data entry, and communicating with computer systems. Has knowledge of nursing principles and techniques, human anatomy, and physiology. Has the ability to work with patients, to interpret and follow medical instructions, to observe patients’ symptoms and reactions to treatment, to demonstrate manual dexterity and to administer medications.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse License Registered Nurse FL Statue 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27.
- Valid Class E Florida Driver’s License required
