HEALTH EDUCATOR CONSULTANT

Your Specific Responsibilities:

The Health Educator Consultant provides essential support to the Health, Education and Promotions(HEP) program by assisting in the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of key public health initiatives: Tobacco & SWAT, Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), Heart Health Plus (HH+), Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (FBCC), Asthma Home Visiting Program, Healthy Communities(HC), and Helping Elevate Locally Provided Services(HELPS) Program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring program continuity, data integrity, and community outreach. The coordinator works closely with program staff, community partners, and leadership to advance health education and improve health outcomes across the county.

Program Coordination & Support

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of Tobacco & SWAT, DPP, HH+, FBCC programs, Asthma, Healthy Communities, and HELPS.
  • Support the development and tracking of program goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate logistics for trainings, workshops, and outreach events.
  • Maintain program documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, and resource materials.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
  • Obtain necessary certifications and system accesses to assist programs more effectively.

 

Data & Reporting

  • Collect, compile, and analyze program data including screening rates, participation metrics, and outreach impact.
  • Prepare draft reports for review by the Public Health Services Manager B-SES and Health Services Manager B-SES.
  • Support quality assurance activities and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintain databases and ensure accurate recordkeeping for all initiatives.

 

Community Engagement

  • Represent the department at community events and assist with health promotion campaigns.
  • Coordinate with local organizations to distribute educational materials and promote services.
  • Support the development of MOUs and partnership agreements.
  • Respond to community inquiries and assist with scheduling outreach activities.

 

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support to program managers and health educators.
  • Assist with budget tracking and procurement of program supplies.
  • Maintain certifications and system access necessary for program operations.
  • Serve as backup support for FBCC operations during staff absences.
  • Complete required Pcard training to serve as the designated purchasing lead for ordering program supplies.
