Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is under the direct supervision of the Community Health Nursing Director. The incumbent has access to the following sets of confidential information:  FL Shots, Health Clinic Management System, STARS and Availity. Incumbent handles protected health information on a need-to-know basis following the Department of Health, HIPAA, and Information Security and privacy policy. This position spends time engaged in supervisory responsibilities to include hiring and discipline of, communicating with, motivating, training, evaluating, planning and directing employees' work, as well as administrative duties, quality improvement, and strategic planning. Will act as assistant HMS administrator which includes blocking and opening schedules, assisting with the daily lab error report, and monitoring active service descriptions, NDC, and CPT codes used in clinical services.

Supervises direct reports including motivating, training, providing guidance, and direction. Directs clerical personnel to plan workload and staffing, meet deadlines, utilize time appropriately, and prioritize work assignments. Spends time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, along with planning and directing their work. Develops expectations and meets with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, and discipline action, if needed. Ensures all staff complete required training and are offered additional training.

Supervises intake, scheduling, eligibility determination, money handling, billing, medical records, and clerical support staff daily operations. Maintains vacation and work schedules to ensure proper coverage and completes timesheets. Manages all clerical, clinic, and provider scheduling in consult with leadership. Serves as a liaison to address clinical and administrative issues to help promote good relations and productive interactions. Ensures all staff complete required training and are offered additional training.  

Ensures quality assurance activities are met and in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Monitors contractual and DOH programmatic deliverables and Medicaid requirements. Will participate in reporting, tracking, and support of HEDIS and performance measure activities. Works closely with direct reports in monitoring and ensuring that quality assurance activities are met and in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Responsible for purchasing supplies, creating purchase orders, receiving goods, and processing payment of all MFMP purchase orders for the clerical and clinical units in accordance with DOH Purchasing Guidelines. Oversees completion and monitoring of Public Record requests such as Subpoenas and Court orders in compliance with DOH policies and procedures.

Manages external mobile clinical services, clinic expansion opportunities (i.e. telehelalth, SDOH. LabCorp), and integration of health promotion services into clinic. Oversees strategic vision to expand clinical services.

Will serve as backup epidemiologist to assist with reporting communicable disease conditions to the state health office Bureau of Epidemiology through direct phone reporting, Merlin case data entry, case investigations, and patient interviews. Will assist with annual mandatory flu report and surveillance.
