WORKING TITLE: RECORDS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

 

This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at the Statewide Records Retention Center.

 

As a member of the Records Management team, our mission is to ensure the accurate, efficient, and secure handling of all records. We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of information, providing timely access to records, and supporting the overall goals of the Florida Department of Corrections. Our role is crucial in upholding transparency, accountability, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

 

This position is not a Telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • File Management: Take charge of organizing and maintaining Personnel, Classification, and medical files in both digital and paper formats.
  • Inventory Mastery: Manage an impressive inventory of over 1,000,000 papeer files across two warehouses, and retrieve files as needed.
  • Records Auditing: Audit and log inactive records into the Records Management System and help process public records requests.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate or learn to operate a forklift to efficiently manage file storage and retrieval.
  • Physical Fitness: Utilize your strength to lift 40 lbs., ensuring smooth handling of files and materials.

BENEFITS:

OPS employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in state group insurance plans. Standard PPO/HMO Options include:

    • Employee Only: $25 biweekly
    • Spouse Program: $15 biweekly
    • Employee & Family: $90 biweekly.

  • Vision – FDC offers one single vision plan through Humana with monthly premiums as low as $5.92.

  • Retirement – As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Capable to operate or have the willingness to operate a forklift.
  • Having the ability to lift 40 lbs.
