This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at the Region 2 Pharmacy in Pharmacy Services. 

As a member of the pharmacy services team, our mission is to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications for all individuals under our care. We provide high-quality pharmaceutical care, promoting health and wellness, and supporting the overall mission of the Florida Department of Corrections. Our goal is to enhance patient outcomes through collaboration, education, and adherence to best practices in medication management.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Mix and Dispense Medications: Get hands-on with creating and distributing pharmaceutical drugs and supplies, ensuring patients receive the right treatments.
  • Shape Pharmacy Policies: Play a key role in crafting and implementing innovative pharmacy policies, methods, and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Train Future Pharmacists: Mentor and train pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in the latest techniques for manufacturing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
  • Manage Inventory Systems: Develop and oversee a cutting-edge inventory control system to keep track of all pharmacy drugs and materials, ensuring nothing runs out.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff to evaluate and improve pharmacy services, making impactful recommendations to the Pharmacy Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • All licensure as a Pharmacist in accordance with Florida Statute 465 in good standing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and the Florida Department of Health.
