This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Union Correctional Institution in Health Services.

 

The mission of the Office of Health Services at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide comprehensive, high-quality medical, dental, and mental health care to inmates. This includes promoting overall well-being, preventing illness, and effectively managing chronic conditions. The office is dedicated to ensuring that all health services are delivered with compassion and professionalism, supporting the rehabilitation and recovery of those in our care. Through these efforts, the Office of Health Services aims to contribute to the overall mission of the department in maintaining public safety and promoting successful offender rehabilitation.

 

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

This is pharmaceutical work located a mail order facility in Raiford, FL. Duties may include but will not be limited to:

  • Compound and Dispense Medications: Fulfill the duties of a pharmacist by compounding and dispensing pharmaceutical drugs and supplies. Clinically analyze and intervene with prescription orders applying best practices.
  • Follow Pharmacy Policies: Follow pharmacy policies, methods, and procedures as outlined by Pharmacy Management and state/federal laws.
  • Assist with the Oversight of Other Pharmacy Staff: Assist pharmacy management with the oversight and training of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Participate in Inventory Improvement: Assist pharmacy management as needed in monitoring a perpetual inventory for all pharmacy drugs and materials.
  • Be a Part of our Team: Consult with physicians, other providers, staff and management on pharmaceutical issues to meet deadlines and dispense drug therapy in a safe and efficient manner, participate in staff meetings and ongoing education, and work towards continual pharmacy improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensure as a Pharmacist in accordance with Florida Statute 465.
