This posting will be used to fill a part time OPS RT position (Sat. & Sun. plus holidays).
Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.
What you will do:
In this position you will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally, you will follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.
How you will make an impact:
- Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties. This requires coordination with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).
- Review appropriate databases for the previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
- Provide clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit.
- Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline. *Case is then assigned in CCWIS and CPI is notified. This same procedure is followed for any out-of-town inquiry request that is received.
- Assign cases to CPI/CPI supervisor.
- Package investigation information.
- Conduct diligent searches.
- Archive case files.
- Maintain rotation and case logs.
- Make case folders for CPIs.
- Assist with mail/closure letters.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Clerical experience (Atleast 2 years preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Knowledge of the methods for organizing and presenting data.
- Ability to conduct meetings and to make presentations.
- Ability to collect, record and analyze data relating to records or operational procedures.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
