CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  2. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. 
  3. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  4. As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in Accounting, Finance or related field and one (1) year of professional experience; OR
  • Associates Degree from an accredited College or University in Accounting, Finance, or related field and three (3) years of professional experience; OR
  • A High School Diploma and five (5) years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes payment of all invoices, purchasing card transactions, travel reimbursements, payroll and assigned Cooperative Agreement accounts. This includes researching payment status and requisition reconciliations.
  • Balance on a monthly basis, Department of Military Affairs Financial Tracking System (DMAFTS) program with Florida Accounting and Information Resource (FLAIR) reports.
  • Research and correct any and all balancing errors as well as work previous year accounts until all appropriation is fully expended.
  • Prepare Form 270
  • Request for Reimbursement documents on all assigned agreements on a monthly basis or as needed on Federal and State Cooperative Agreements. 
  • Attends quarterly reviews on all assigned agreements.
  • Prepares extension memos, liability lists and any other documentation (if applicable) as required by supervisor.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
