The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is a state public school available at no cost to eligible pre-K and K-12 students who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired or deafblind, including boarding and transportation services. FSDB is nationally recognized for its comprehensive educational services, designed for the unique communication and accessibility needs of students. Salary Range

12-month position: $36,467.60 - $42,467.60 annually



Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.


Your Specific Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Administrator for Boarding Services. Provide clerical support, office communication support and office coordination for the Administrator, including routine clerical support, the initiation and completion of all FSDB forms and intra-campus communication, time management, coordination for the Administrator and other Department supervisory staff.  Responsible for completing and maintaining all office records, files and pertinent information, some of which is confidential in nature.  Monitors department General Revenue and Endowment budgets.  Tracks appliance replacement to assist in identifying budgetary needs. Provides coordination of clerical support activities for the Education and Training Specialist and the Recreation Coordinator. Coordinates production of the monthly Board of Trustees report. Attend meetings, records minutes and disburses information as required. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to successfully complete training and administer skills acquired during CPI and CPR.


Sign Language Requirements

Applicants who are selected for hire in the Boarding Program will be required to attain an Intermediate proficiency level in sign language within four years of hire. Please note: The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind provides education to acquire sign language skills.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office 365 - Teams, Outlook, One Note, Word, Excel, etc.  Experience with Google Drive, Classroom, etc Ability to create and maintain applicable databases and spreadsheets.
