This position requires that you are licensed in the State of Florida as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in accordance with Chapter 468 F.S..





Assesses anthropometric and dietary data to determine eligibility for the WIC Program in accordance with state and federal policies and regulations stated in DHM 150-24. Enters data from medical and nutrition questionnaire. Provides nutrition counseling to WIC participants and documents in FL-WiSE. Discusses clients progress with other professionals, as needed. Provides referrals to other health care and social service programs, as needed. Develops, monitors, evaluates and revises nutrition care plans for high risk clients. Assess immunization status of WIC children and make appropriate referrals as needed.


Provides breastfeeding support to pregnant and postpartum women. Determines eligibility for the WIC program following procedures outlined in DHM 150-24 including offering clients the opportunity to apply to register to vote according to instructions, WIC benefits Issuance and Farmers Market benefits issuance as needed. Run reports in order to perform quality assurance. Orders special formula for WIC clients as needed, using the WIC Formula Reference Guide, calculating formula usage for the month. Processes invoices for special formula following procedures outlined in DHM 150-25 and the FL WiSE. Complies with and monitors compliance of the mandatory requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statute and Chapter 3A-24, Florida Administrative Code (prompt payment requirement).


Participates in WIC outreach activities afterhours and on weekends as needed. Provides nutrition counseling to patients receiving medical care at health department as needed. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the Classification Specifications of the assigned position.
