LOCATION, CONTACT AND SALARY INFORMATION

Starting Salary -   $1,557.71 Bi-Weekly.  (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for developing and documenting findings pertaining to circuit case management and JJIS oversight reports; the collection of data related to incoming referrals and tracking circuit caseloads; and data entry into the UNITY ICJ system, tracking referrals for services and entering information into the ENOTIFY system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions based on individual analysis, document findings and develop reports.    

Will be required to consistently use or collect valid data from an approved department source, in conjunction with the Bureau of Research and Planning and the circuit’s management team to perform data analysis and strategic planning.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and time management, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.

Drafts and recommends operational circuit procedures based on reviews/assessments of units to improve efficiency/productivity of probation and conditional release personnel.

Provides daily assistance, review, and consultation in keeping the Juvenile Justice Information Systems (JJIS) census accurate and updated for Probation staff and Providers.

Responsible for the coordination of volunteers and interns within the Circuit.

Responsible for the coordination of special projects assigned by Chief Probation Officer, headquarters and/or regional office seeking input on operational and administrative issues.

Responsible for assisting with the review, tracking and assignment of Interstate and Intrastate case transfers.

Serves as the Circuit Liaison for Sex Offender related services and provides technical assistance and tracking for Adam Walsh and Jimmy Ryce eligible youth.

Coordinates information sharing with the County Diversion Programs.

Works within the Circuit to provide and facilitate necessary trainings as established by Quality Assurance and Department guidelines.

Processes requests for records.

Serves as the Circuit Liaison and provides technical assistance on Medicaid, Cost of Care, Incompetents and DNA tracking.

Assists the Chief Probation Officer in administrative duties.

Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A high school diploma or its equivalent (GED)

Must maintain a valid Driver’s License;

Candidates must be agreeable to working a flexible schedule.

This position requires non-traditional hours, including weekend and evening hours when needed.

Ability to make independent decisions based on individual analysis, have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct and document interviews.

Knowledge of the concept of civil citation and prevention interventions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Strong organizational/time-management skills;

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks;

Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals;

Ability to read data, interpret trends, identify problems, develop solutions, and design analyses;

Ability to travel;

Ability to analyze the effectiveness of service programs;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to candidates with:

One year experience facilitating trainings, meetings, and/or giving presentations

Two (2) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, field probation work, or administrative work required.

Two (2) years of juvenile justice experience.

Knowledge of local stakeholders.

Knowledge and experience utilizing various computer programs.

A bachelor’s degree..

This position requires traveling to participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, or trainings.
