The Work You Will Do:
The Employment Security Representative II position at CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas is a professional position responsible for providing labor exchange and employment services to Career Center customers that enhance service satisfaction within the One Stop environment. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Interview and assess customer needs and provide service or referrals as appropriate.
- Determine the eligibility of applicants for specialized employment and training programs.
- Provide instructions and assistance to customers utilizing the Employ Florida system (EF) and other computer data and programs.
- Refer customers to job openings, training opportunities, and other employment-related services; Refer customers to employability skills instructional classes; provide labor market information; and refer to supportive services as needed.
- Maintain and develop contact with resources within community groups and local organizations.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

This role interfaces with all business units at Career Source to provide referrals to programs, specialized training grants, and other employment-related services.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Provide quality customer service to all citizens utilizing the Career Resource Center. Assist job seekers with applications, resumes, assessments, and information. Refer customers to job openings, training opportunities, and other employment-related services; determine potential eligibility for and/or participation in special programs. Refer customers to employability skills instructional classes, provide labor market information, and refer to supportive services as needed. Accurately record information, document services provided, and adhere to state, federal, and local policies. In addition to assisting customers in the Resource Center, you will use your skills and insight to promote career center services and programs offered.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic public relations principles
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication
Knowledge, skills, and abilities with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to communicate effectively in individual and group settings
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to deal with the public and the employment community tactfully, courteously, and effectively
Ability to effectively promote Career Source Pinellas, Inc.
Ability to collect, record, and analyze data
Ability to work independently.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to learn and use other applicable State of Florida and/or Career Source Pinellas, Inc. computer systems.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
Incumbents may be required to travel locally and must furnish their own transportation.
Candidate must Complete the Certified Workforce Professional (Tier 1) within 90 days of hire.
High School Diploma
Preferred - At least two full years of work experience in employment services, job placement, assessment, and/or Customer Service, Sales, Recruiting, or related customer-facing or employment development occupations.
