ADVERTISING TITLE: GENERAL SERVICES SPECIALIST
This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Baker Correctional Institution in the Warehouse Department.
This supervisory role leads staff, ensures compliance, protects assets, and manages daily operations in warehousing, mailroom, canteen, inmate workforce, and financial controls.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead and supervise staff across multiple departments
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Protect organizational assets and maintain security
- Manage daily operations in warehousing, mailroom, canteen, and inmate workforce
- Oversee financial controls and reporting processes

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a valid CDL or the willingness to obtain one.
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess at least 2 years mailroom/warehouse experience.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
