Your Specific Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

Completes dally deposit from each cashier and enters data into Excel spreadsheet to monitor cash intake. Ensures all entries are accurate and reflect a balanced deposit. Any discrepancies found while processing cashier deposits will be corrected with the cashier and reconciled before the deposit is completed. Will advise supervisors as needed in cases of significant error with cashier entry/collection of fees.  Will keep a spreadsheet of errors for use by cashier supervisors in the Evaluation process.  Prepares spreadsheet of revenue breakdown to be used by office staff for entry into FLAIR.

 

Posting of Log Payments- The incumbent to this position will be responsible for posting all non-electronic HMO/TPL payments and other Invoiced payments coming into the CHD by mail log and running any needed reports once posting is completed while remaining compliant with the FDOH Accounts Receivable Policy.  Incumbent will prepare all spreadsheets for revenue breakdown to be used by office staff for entry into FLAIR.

 

FLAIR Entry- Enters Revenue from Medicaid, Dental HMO’s, Medicaid HMO’s and TPL providers into the state FLAIR system ensuring accuracy of entry by verifying against treasury statements retrieved from the PLAM system before transmitting entries.  Runs the verified reports in FLAIR at the end of each day and notifies the supervisor if any discrepancies are found.

 

School Vouchers- Incumbent will collect and process all school vouchers and create an invoice to send to the School Board for reimbursement of services.  This will be done monthly and the billing forms will be held until payment has been received and posted in HMS.  Follows up with the School Board when payment has not been received timely to assist them in getting their account paid as needed.

 

Billing of Services- Posts all Dental payments into HMS and reconciles vouchers.  Posts all denials in HMS and rebills services when applicable to the correct payor.  Assists with posting of all Electronic payments for Medicaid, HMO’s and TPL’s and manually posts when needed.  Posts denials in HMS and rebills claims as applicable.    

 

NSF Tracking Log-Incumbent will maintain the NSF-Dishonored Check/Credit Card Tracking Log for all returned items and will follow up to ensure that each item is handled until funds are retrieved or until the account is sent to Collections for non-payment. 

Other Duties- The incumbent will perform any and all other duties as assigned by his/her chain of command to support the mission of the Department of Health in Seminole County. The incumbent will participate in state or in-house trainings as assigned. Incumbent will adhere to HIPAA guidelines to

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of MS Office products.  Ability to work independently, under pressure and to work with internal & external customers. Ability to organize, collect and compile reports.  Ability to post, balance, and reconcile Fiscal Records.  Knowledge of basic arithmetic, file organization, and bookkeeping principles and practices.  Must communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 2 years of experience determining insurance eligibility for clients seeking services at a health care facility supported by work experience in your application or resume

 

  1. This position may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disasters or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. This position will maintain confidentiality and security of records as specified by departmental regulations and laws.
  2. At least 2 years of Accounting and/or Accounts Receivable experience supported by work experience in your application or resume
  3. At least 2 years of experience with Handling Cash supported by work experience
