Class Title:  Government Operations Consultant II being re classed to Dental Assistant

Base Salary: $34,760.00 – 39,959.92 Annually

Your Specific Responsibilities:

 

Communication with school staff (School Based Sealant Program), parents, and dental professionals. Verifying dental insurances and coverage. (School Based Sealant Program and Dental Fixed Clinic) Coordinate with the dental team to ensure smooth on-site operations. (School Based Sealant Program). Deliver age-appropriate oral health education to students, focusing on cavity prevention, proper brushing, and benefits of sealants. (School Based Sealant Program). Prepare necessary paperwork for Hygienist to counsel parents about the importance of sealants and follow-up care. (School Based Sealant Program)

Assist with maintaining infection control standards (School Based Sealant Program, and Dental Fixed Clinic). Set up, break down and maintain all School Based Sealant equipment in the schools, ensuring compliance with state dental board requirements. Record screening results, and sealant application data. (School Based Sealant Program)

Help promote the Dental Program and School Based Sealant Program to school community, including parents and teachers, and local organizations. Assists with organizing the Dental Program’s outreaches. (School Based Sealant Program and Dental Fixed Clinic)

Patient Preparation & Comfort, by greeting patients, explain the dental procedures, and ensure they are comfortable before, during, and after treatment. (School Based Sealant Program). Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols, maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms. (School Based Sealant Program and Dental Fixed Clinic)

Monitor Inventory control. (School Based Sealant Program). Schedule appointments. (Dental Fixed Clinic). Handles dental front desk duties, when needed. (Dental Fixed Clinic). Maintains Sterilizations logs, maintenance logs, Waterline logs. (School Based Sealant Program)

Communicates with courtesy, respect, and understanding in dealing with clients, public, and staff.  Keeps supervisor informed about any difficulties that occur with clients, associates, or procedures.  Will not incur more than 3 complaints per appraisal period.

Assist with the School Based Sealant Program including cleaning and sterilizing instruments, packing supplies for the schools, ordering supplies, checking eligibility, registering patients in HMS.

The incumbent of this position is required to perform other duties as needed to support the mission of the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County. Included but not limited to outreach activities, when requested by the supervisor.

 Performs other duties as required to support the mission of the Department of Health.
