Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County is looking for self-motivated, hardworking individuals for a Property Specialist position located in Sanford, FL. 32773.
Condition of Employment:
This position may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disasters or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. This position will maintain confidentiality and security of records as specified by departmental regulations and laws.
This position requires a Valid Florida Driver License.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position supports and serves as a back-up to position Building Operations Specialist. The work consists of requesting, while also coordinating building maintenance and the cleaning of three properties. At times, may need to work with County maintenance staff. Assists in the ordering, receiving, tracking inventory while issuing and maintaining material, equipment and supply inventories of all items required by the CHD. Assists in performing housekeeping and custodial assignments in all sites for the CHD. Works with Building Operations Specialist to coordinate fleet maintenance for 30 county vehicles and three towable storage trailers.
Receives, records, unpacks, stocks and issues a variety of stored items such as chemical apparatus, furniture and supplies in proper storage areas. Checks incoming materials for quantity and quality against purchase orders, invoices and packing slips. Reports discrepancies to the business office. Takes part in assembling, packing, and arranging all returned items.
Facilities maintenance general repairs and modifications: installation and repair of miscellaneous facilities components such as roofs, ceilings, walls, doors, locks, flooring, shelving, plumbing fixtures, and other devices commonly found in commercial buildings using common tools, equipment, machinery, and materials.
Equipment and furnishings maintenance, modification, and repairs: maintain all furnishings and equipment in Health Department facilities using common hand tools, power tools, and repair materials.
General labor: provide general labor assistance in support of a wide array of Health Department activities such as delivering equipment and materials; setting up displays for health fairs; rearranging auditorium furniture for large meetings; erecting tents and canopies for events; etc
Vehicle operations: operate various vehicles owned by the Health Department including vans, pickup trucks, and large mobile unit.
Assists in all housekeeping chores such as cleaning restrooms, removing trash on a daily basis. Mops and vacuums floors as necessary. Restocks all paper goods and soap dispensers in bathrooms and hand sanitizers in the halls as needed. Cleans all break rooms, to include emptying recycle bins while also removing cob webs on a monthly basis to include external security cameras. Assists in the moving of furniture and setting up conference rooms as required on the work order system.
Along with the Building Operations Specialist, is responsible for the opening of the 400 West Airport Boulevard facility no later than 07:00 am, Monday thru Friday. Serves as secondary responder for all non-business hour facility requirements, sounded facility alarms (if on call) or alerts from monitoring security company, facility alarms for emergencies, renovations and maintenance performed after hours or on the weekends.
Performs additional duties as assigned to support the mission of the Department of Health in Seminole County.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment: Knowledge and ability to use a desktop computer and appropriate state software programs. Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems. Using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Ability to lift 50 pounds to wait level and 25 pounds over shoulders/head; ability to stand for periods of 60-90 minutes.
