FACILITIES SERVICES MANAGER I - SES

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly independent position serving as a Facilities Services manager for the Florida Department of Health – Sarasota County.

1. Supervisory Functions
1. Provides supervision and support for assigned staff according to Personnel rules, regulations, and operation procedures.
2. Evaluates staff through observing their performance in various settings and prepares written performance evaluations. 
3. Motivates staff to improve the quality and quantity of work performed. 
4. Initiates all personnel actions; conducts staff meetings on a regular basis; provides opportunities for and encourages professional growth.
2. Facilities Management
1. Point of contact for preventive/corrective maintenance services and special projects involving scheduling/coordination/negotiation with contractors, architects, and engineers
2. Coordinates/schedules the delivery and installation of furniture and equipment at all facilities
3. Prepares Purchase Requisitions and utilizes P-Card for payments. Responsible for utility approval and payment processing for all sites.
4. Develop and implement long term renovation plan for DOH offices in Sarasota.  Identifies areas and assets that need rehabilitation to support long term agency goals.  Works with County and vendors to procure and implement renovations.
5. Consults with and advises staff on proper maintenance and operation of physical facilities and equipment
6. Coordinates/facilitates DOH-Sarasota Sarasota Fleet motor pool program (BOB, Ringling, North Port)
7. Coordinates/facilitates “Swipe” Card facility entrance program
3. Other Duties
1. Attends appropriate and required training to include General staff meeting, annual requirements, and in-services
2. Provides other services as needed and requested by supervisor
3. Provides coverage for North Port facility in the absence of a full-time staff member

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of facilities operations, preventive maintenance practices, and building systems management.
• Skilled in compiling, organizing, and analyzing operational, maintenance, and project-related data to support decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed records related to facilities operations, procurement, utilities, and fleet management.

Qualifications:

• Valid drivers license
• Experience monitoring facilities, building systems, and operational processes to maintain safe, functional, and compliant environments.
