Your Specific Responsibilities:
1. Interpreter Services
- Provides accurate Spanish interpretation for patients, primarily in the Maternity Clinic as well as Family Planning, STD, and HIV clinics as needed.
- Translates basic patient education materials from English to Spanish.
- Assists patients in completing forms.
2. Clinical Support
- Prepares patients for visits by recording height, weight, blood pressure, and temperature, updating charts, and reviewing required lab tests.
- Maintains clinic flow by assisting with patient routing, preparing exam rooms, and coordinating with staff to resolve issues.
- Ensures accurate lab paperwork and assists patients in the laboratory.
- Manages medical supply inventory, restocking as needed.
- Monitors and replenishes patient education materials.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment, including routine equipment checks, exam room sanitation, and medical equipment sterilization.
3. Laboratory Services
- Collects and processes laboratory specimens (urine, capillary, and venous blood) for in-house or external analysis.
- Performs in-house testing, including rapid HIV and Hep C tests, urinalysis, hemoglobin, blood glucose, and pregnancy tests.
- Accurately enters lab orders into HMS and external lab systems.
- Runs equipment controls and prepares specimens for shipment to designated labs following protocols.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Venipuncture skills
- HIPAA and Healthcare Privacy knowledge
- Proficient in clinical settings processes
- Prioritization of Tasks in heavy flow clinic
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record
- Teamwork and working to cover others to ensure smooth flow of Clinic
- Superior Customer Service Skills
Qualifications:
Minimum –
- Phlebotomy experience
- Fluent in both written and spoken Spanish language
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and/or access to reliable transportation
- High School diploma or GED
Preferred –
- 1 year experience working in a medical office setting
- CNA or MA Certification
