Your Specific Responsibilities:

As a Health Support Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in our healthcare team, focusing on both clinical and clerical support functions in the Maternity Clinic in our Sarasota County Health Department Ringling and North Port Sites. Your responsibilities will include:

I. Health Support Functions:

  • Clinical Preparation: Prepare clients for clinic visits by accurately recording height, weight, temperature, and medical history.
  • Assist Physicians: Support physicians during patient care, treatments, and procedures; ensure equipment readiness and sterilization post-procedure.
  • Clinic Coordination: Maintain efficient clinic operations by preparing exam rooms and guiding clients through their visit.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage medical supplies to uphold seamless clinic operations.
  • Laboratory Support: Collect, label, and process specimens for various laboratory analyses as required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare reports to ensure compliance with state programs and assist in specialized treatments.

II. Clerical Support Functions:

  • Appointment Scheduling: Utilize the HMS system to schedule appointments accurately. Schedule clients for tests and procedures.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with referrals and follow-ups as needed.
