Your Specific Responsibilities:

Performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis, develops and orders treatments, medications, laboratory and radiological tests, and provides consultations. The senior physician in this position performs periodic examinations on adults with acute or chronic illnesses requiring specialty care including HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and STDs prescribing treatment, medication, and follow-up care.

Maintains medical records on patients. Reviews records including laboratory, x-ray, consultation reports, hospital records, and summaries and other pertinent reports appropriate for comprehensive health care. Referrals for consultation or emergency care are done when appropriate and necessary.

Collaborates with both on-site and other physicians and mid-level health providers to assure integrated and comprehensive specialty care services for adults. When appropriate, makes referrals to other programs, developmental services, child protection services, mental health, social and economic services, and other appropriate services as indicated or necessary.

Attends medical continuing education programs to maintain currency, as well as mandated educational sessions provided by the county health department.

Reports problems and complaints to supervisor, as well as successes and achievements.

Performs related work as necessary or required.

The physician in this position shall participate in the Quality Assurance Audit, Customer Service, HIPAA Compliance, Peer Review and other regulatory and review activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum -

  • Active Licensure as a Medical Doctor in accordance with FS 458
  • 1-3 years of experience in the medical field
  • HIV Management required within 6 months of hire

 

Preferred

  • Experience in HIV Management, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Family Practice or other related specialties.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
