CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
- Three (3) years of professional administrative experience or related field.
- Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Federal Applications for Retired Pay. Verifies retirement source documents. Computes retirement points. Prepares all retirement application documents. Corresponds with soldiers and their spouse to insure proper submission of application. Schedules and conducts personal retirement interviews with retired or retiring soldiers and their spouses. Verify and compute any supplemental points.
- Prepares Statements of Service by verifying/reviewing retirement source documents. Updates service and retirement points Prepares and forwards documentation to requestors/soldiers/units of assignment.
- Process Twenty-Year Letters and update the RPAM system by corresponding with the soldiers, subordinate units and higher military agencies to verify retirement source documents. Compute service and retirement points. Issue Twenty-Year Letters, counsel soldiers and their spouses on their election for Survivor Benefit Elections Forms to insure correct and accurate completion and forward documents to the Human Resources Command in Ft. Knox, KY.
- Program Manager for the 30 Year Florida Army/Air National Guard Retirement Pay Program. Verifies that the soldier has 30 years of Florida service. Corresponds with soldier to insure proper submission of application. Advises Department Heads on issues relating to the 30 Year Florida Guard Retirement Program.
- Processes request for verification of service by reviewing retirement source documents for accuracy and completeness. Submits request for retirement documentation to AR-PERCOM, State Adjutant General offices and any other higher military agencies that maintain retirement point documentation. Updates the RPAM System. Corresponds with requestor/Soldier’s unit of assignment.
- Works transaction listing for RPAS when Training NCO is not available. Logs out each new accession record in IPPSA. Queries IPPSA for accuracy of new information. Keys 20 Year status Survivor Benefit Election and retirement year ending date changes in IPPSA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Knowledge of operation and basic maintenance for fa, microfilm reader/printer.
- Knowledge of Windows NT operating system and data bases, computers and scanners.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and Privacy Act.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift and carry 10 lbs.
