FSDB SALARY RANGE: $15.00 an hour
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or its equivalent
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Applicants under consideration for employment at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind will be required to complete background investigation. Fingerprints will be taken and sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a background check of your criminal history record(s) at the state and national level. FSDB is a drug-free workplace.
WORK LOCATION: Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, 207 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida
WORK HOURS: Up to 24 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This confidential position reports directly to the Comptroller of FSDB. Maintains student database; adds, closes, and updates accounts. Reconciles active student account records to active student roster. Verifies mailing addresses for students, parents, and legal guardians for student account in activations. Prepares Agency Fund Requisitions for student fund in activations. Performs general filing as required. Organizes files and maintains file archive room. Updates permanent records as required. Types labels for file folders as required. Other duties of a general office nature as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of basic math. Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Knowledge of basic filing practices. Knowledge of basic desktop computer operations. Knowledge of e-mail, spreadsheet, and word processing software. Ability to learn and use proprietary accounting systems, such as Blackbaud Financial Edge and online banking applications. Ability to maintain fiscal records. Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to understand and execute instructions given in writing or orally.
