Your Specific Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable Department:
- Generates and reviews the HMS Unbilled Listing Report to prepare Bill File Creation.
- Generates daily Bill File Creation (BFC), submits clean claims to the appropriate Clearinghouse, (electronically and/or paper claims if needed).
- Posting Medicaid/insurance payments as assigned.
- Generates Pending by Insurance report weekly to review claims submitted over 30 days without payment to determine the reason the claims was not paid and/or if the claim needs to be resubmitted.
- Reviews denied claims on a weekly basis to determine if the claim was denied appropriately or needs to be resubmitted for reimbursement. This process can be obtained via reviewing EOB’s or generating the HMS Denial Report.
- Resubmits denied insurance claims within 14 days of receipt of denial and submits corrected claim within 30 days of date denial received unless clean claim cannot be submitted.
- Maintains a shared spreadsheet of all results.
- Process Application for Refunds and credit card refunds.
- Generates monthly Primary Care invoice, submits to supervisor for approval prior to submitting to the Contract Administrator.
- Generates Monthly NIC Credit Card Reports.
- Generates the Monthly Waivers, Write-off and Sent to Collections reports.
- Updates Medicaid/Medicare Provider List, distribute updated list to AR Department, monthly.
- Conducts Random Quarterly Cashier Audits
- Assists with billing medical and dental services in HMS as needed.
- Utilizes the appropriate systems to verify the client's insurance, Medicaid eligibility status, updates the Insurance screen and notepad in HMS with accurate information each time. Generate and mail monthly client statements.
- Enters, reviews and certifies EAR's coding in HMS, daily.
Cash Management:
- Audits Cashier’s Daily Balancing paperwork.
- Assigns the appropriate revenue codes.
- Creates FLAIR Revenue Excel spreadsheet to allow deposits to be entered into FLAIR.
- Retrieves Treasury Reports and/or Remittance Advice when needed to complete the check log and or post payments.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Utilization of equipment, required for the position
- Ability to use Facsimile, copier and personal computer.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office-Windows, Excel, Word
- Understanding of basic grammar, written sentence’s structure and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Ability to gather information, knowledge of how to research various State web sites to search policies and procedures, identifying essential information needed to perform assigned duties and complete daily assignments.
- Basic mathematics knowledge.
- Proficient typing skills and data entry
- Strong organizational skills.
- Time Management skills is a must.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Displays excellent phone etiquette, a friendly and polite tone.
- Demonstrates excellent customer services skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, work well with others and be a team player.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- High school Diploma
- 3 or more years of experience in in Microsoft Office
- 1 or more year of experience in Account Receivables
- 1 or more year of experience in FLAIR
- Exprience in retrieving and reviewing deposit information on PALMS
- Experience in generating credit card reports in the NIC Credit Card system.
Preferred:
- More than 2 years of knowledge of and/or experience working in the Department of Health Billing Portal.
- More than 2 years of knowledge of verifying client insurance in the Florida Medicaid System or use of other insurance verification/eligibility web portals.
- More than 2 years of knowledge of reviewing and analyzing outstanding accounts receivables.
