Your Specific Responsibilities:

Billing/Claims Duties:

  • Accurately review, scans, and prepare Health Insurance Claim Form (HCFA), verify current CPT codes and enter data into the database used by the program.
  • Maintains information for the program’s databases and various client tracking systems including HMS.
  • Assists Accounts Payable to ensure bills/claims generated by PinCHD clinics are processed accurately and timely.
  • Reviews HCFA 1500 from services providers for review by supervisor.
  • Prepares and electronically sends approved claims for reimbursement to the third-party payer on biweekly basis.
  • Communicates with outside providers as needed regarding billing issues.

 

Program Support Duties:

  • Run the EARS Services Report each month for PinCHD providers who are budgeted to conduct services for Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. Provide a copy of the report to the Program Manager.
  • Run the Client Services Report in HMS at least once a month for outside providers including the mobile bus partners Provide a copy of the report to the Program Manager. 
  • Processes travel authorizations and reimbursements per department policy.
  • Maintains familiarity and competence with the automated Purchase Requisition System and the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) system.
  • Completes the monthly ordering, purchasing and reconciliation of program materials and supplies.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Receive all orders when delivered 

 

Reception Duties

  • Acts as a receptionist, answer phones, takes messages, keep telephone log, greets and routes visitors and ensures appropriate professional communications.
  • Assists with scheduling and confirming appointment for program clients.
  • Receives, date stamps and distributes incoming Pony and U.S. Mail to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensures outgoing mail is delivered to the mail room each day.

  • Knowledge and skill in processing medical bills or claims,
  • Knowledge and skill using electronic medical records system such as the FDOH Health Management System (HMS),
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services,
  • Knowledge of general office procedure and practices,
  • Knowledge and experience using a procurement procedures and method such as the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) system,
  • Skill in working effectively with the public,
  • Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner,
  • Ability to prioritize work and to adjust and identify changing priorities,
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

Incumbent must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Incumbent must hold a valid Florida driver’s license and access to an automobile.

 

Preferred:

Experience using the FDOH Health Management System (HMS).

Experience using the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) system.

Experience using the Statewide Travel Management System (STMS).

Ability to communicate in Spanish.
