A valid driver’s license with no restrictions

One or more years of working in a courier or related position
Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory Level 2 background check at no cost to the candidate.
This posting represents two separate positions. Shuttle operating hours are from 7:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. for the morning shift driver and 3:30 P.M. to 5:30P.M. for the evening shift driver, Monday through Friday. Both morning and evening shifts can be up to 4 hours per day, assisting with other tasks. Not eligible for telework.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This posting represents two separate positions, a morning and evening shuttle driver. The incumbent will be responsible for shuttle driving services, picking up mail from the Post Office, maintaining the shuttle, and other duties as needed. The duties include but are not limited to:
Operate a passenger van seating up to 15 people.
Transport staff to and from the FWRI headquarters building and the Mahaffey parking garage during morning and/or late afternoon/early evening hours.
Transport staff to and from the FWRI headquarters building and other parking locations as needed for special events.
Schedule and take the shuttle and other state vehicles for routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
Perform routine vehicle upkeep, including cleaning and fueling.
Conduct regular vehicle inspections, checking gas, oil, water, and other basic systems routinely.
Complete daily pick up of mail from post office.
Work 10-20 hours per week.
Report any accidents, delays, or incidents promptly.
Run occasional errands as needed.
Occasional related work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to safely operate a large passenger van.
Ability to meet and greet staff in a polite and professional manner.
Must be prompt and dependable.
Skilled in effective communication techniques.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to pass a level 2 background check.
Knowledge of Florida driving rules and regulations.
Skilled in customer service practices.
Ability to maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a vehicle is working properly.
