CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  2. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. 
  3. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  4. This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
  5. As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; AND
  • Three (3) years of professional related experience.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Engineering section in obtaining routine field data, verifies quantities and measurements, performs lab interviews, and tracks status of all permitting actions and project plans to completion.
  • Compiles accurate data based on high-level technical reports, securing information from federal, state, and local officials.
  • Compiles pre-construction progress data based on technical reports and contacts with agency and local officials.
  • Investigates possible delaying factors such as the status of relocation of electric, telephone, water, gas, and other utilities from rights-of-way and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists in the administration of fixed capital outlay projects as assigned.
  • Assists project managers in approving final bid specifications and cost estimates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to listen to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate
  • Ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches
  • Knowledge of how to find information and identifying essential information
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings
