FLORIDA YOUTH CHALLENGE ACADEMY
The Florida Youth Challenge Academy’s mission is to provide a highly disciplined and motivational environment, free from outside distractions, which fosters academics, leadership, development, personal growth, self-esteem, and physical fitness for qualifying high school dropouts. The Academy consists of an operational staff and cadre with in-depth military experience, certified instructors from the Clay County School District system, a registered nurse, counselors and recruitment and placement personnel.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
- This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
- As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a Department of Juvenile Justice Background screening/test.
- Must have and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
- Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six months of employment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
- Three (3) years of professional, full-time-equivalent experience in Computer, Desktop Support or related field;
- Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Basic to Intermediate troubleshooting knowledge on iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices
Basic to Intermediate ability to manage services (Google Workspace, ASM, MDM) regarding employees and cadets.
Basic to Intermediate knowledge to troubleshooting and setup, produce, manage printers and copiers.
Setup new hardware and software for end users as well as train end users on how to use the hardware/software.
Setup and maintain audio/video equipment in academy classrooms and outside as scheduled.
Maintain and organize academy files, photos and video files on the academy shared drives.
Design, create and produce the academy yearbook, online photo galleries, documents, presentations, videos for the Academy’s Social Media Accounts and for Recruiting Staff as needed/requested.
Conducts on-going support to identify methods / techniques for improving the use of existing hardware, software and documentation.
Provides user technical assistance using various methods (RDP, Phone, Chat, E-Mail, Face to Face)
Ability to maintain and create knowledge base articles for users on the academy help desk system.
Track and input residential training data in academy database.
Take photographs / videos of Academy events or as requested
Take and edit formal Uniform / Graduation photos
Maintains and updates the Academy website to include editing web pages, updating photo galleries and bulletin boards, and maintaining web forms using WordPress.
Knowledge in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus but not required.
Assist with offsite events, trips and special events that may occur outside regular working hours.
Monitor and work with cadets.
On occasion drive cadets to and from events.

- Knowledge of data processing equipment, operations, procedures, and workflow.
- Knowledge of basic terminology and procedures in the areas of data processing and computer programming.
- Knowledge of iOS, iPadOS, macOS devices, Basic Graphic and design fundamentals, WordPress, social media and the internet.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Skill in operating a variety of data processing equipment.
- Ability to interpret and respond to computer error messages.
- Ability to detect data processing equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work in a training capacity with people in individual and group settings.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain office automation equipment.
- Knowledge of distributed processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.

- Ability to develop training related to Apple Devices, Google Workspace and other used services to our staff.
