FLORIDA YOUTH CHALLENGE ACADEMY
The Florida Youth Challenge Academy’s mission is to provide a highly disciplined and motivational environment, free from outside distractions, which fosters academics, leadership, development, personal growth, self-esteem and physical fitness for qualifying high school dropouts. The Academy consists of an operational staff and cadre with in-depth military experience, certified instructors from the Clay County School District system, a registered nurse, counselors and recruitment and placement personnel.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
- This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
- As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a Department of Juvenile Justice Background screening/test.
- Must have and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
- Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six months of employment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND One (1) year of Administrative experience or related field; OR
- A High School Diploma or equivalent AND Three (3) years of Administrative experience or related field
- Must have professional experience working with at-risk youth
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- One (1) year of Recruiting experience
- Two (2) years of Customer Service and Sales experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides information regarding admissions requirements and program benefits to prospective students and parents via phone and email as needed.
- Assists prospective students with enrollment process including advising, placement testing and registration.
- Facilitate planning, organization, and implementation of special event to include Career/Military Day, Mentor/Mentee Training and Academy Tours with Cadets and Vendors twice a year.
- Oversees and implements vendor for Career/Military Day and gather vendors for participation.
- Conducts all ASVAB Testing with cadets twice a year and facilitates meetings with cadets for scores to discuss future options for Military Service.
- Contacts local and long-distance agencies seeking job opportunities for cadet placement.
- Coordinates Ambassador Selection process and personally selects each Ambassador to represent Academy by implementing requirements to the cadets concerning Ambassador required application process.
- Oversees Recruitment Ribbon Process after requirements have been met.
- Oversees homework assignments for all cadets during placement passes.
- Assists with training for Mentors pertaining to Placement Requirements each class.
- Assists with recruitment materials and training communicating the ba1kground of the organization and its effectiveness.
- Assists in the RPM Coordinator with assessments to determine what perception the public presently has of organization and implement effective recruitment efforts for both prospective students and mentors.
- Assists with developing and coordinating a social services outreach program which builds relationships with community agencies for Cadet Placement.
- Coordinate activities involving the preparation and placement of students into identified employment opportunities.
- Coordinate on-campus or offsite job interviewing opportunities between students and prospective employers.
- Provides assistance with any additional duties assigned by RPM Coordinator.
- Assist in conducting RPM Admissions Training and daily activities including Orientations', Admissions Intake, Rite of Passage, Family Day, Mentor Training, Career Day, Placement Pass and Graduation.
