Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire a Medical Health Care Program Analyst who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. 

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.

 

The position is located in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Medicaid and Procurement (DCOS). 

DCOS is responsible for legislative and communications/outreach efforts, project and process management, process improvement initiatives, coordinating human resource activities for the Medicaid Program, Agency purchasing and contract administration, Medicaid Program operational process tracking, and other cross-divisional tasks.

DCOS is also responsible for training activities for Medicaid Program staff, and the maintenance of Medicaid's internal and external websites.

 

This position is responsible for maintaining the Medicaid external website and responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:

- Maintaining the Division of Medicaid’s external website. 

- Coordinating with Medicaid staff to make revisions to the content and structure of the Medicaid external website.

- Coordinating with the Agency’s IT Division to make sure all requests to revise the content and structure of Medicaid’s external website are complete. 

- Maintaining the Division of Medicaid’s internal SharePoint website. 

- Responsible for coordinating with Medicaid staff and providing necessary training staff and assistance to make revisions to the content and structure of the Medicaid internal SharePoint website. 

- Also responsible for coordinating with the Agency’s IT Division on any revisions to the content and structure of Medicaid’s internal SharePoint site when necessary. 

- Responsible for the coordination of the Medicaid website review process to ensure Medicaid’s external and internal SharePoint sites remain accurate and up to date.  This includes sending out assignments to the website coordinators, meeting with website coordinators, and making any changes received/requested as a result of the review process. 

- Responsible for maintaining the Medicaid Director’s SharePoint site to ensure information is up to date and accurate.

- Liaison for the Medicaid Director’s Office to manage preparation and development of the annual Long Range Program Plan for the Division of Medicaid, including ensuring timely submission of all components to the Agency Budget office, and coordination of submission and update from throughout the Division.

- Conducting policy research projects/evaluations and legislative and policy analyses with regards to federal and state legislation and its impact on the Florida Medicaid program, as directed in a timely and accurate manner, coordinating with Medicaid policy staff, and additional internal and external resources as needed, ensuring a comprehensive, objective position on all disseminated work product.  This may include attending meetings, reviewing materials, reviewing proposed and new legislation, conducting research, or assisting with mission critical Medicaid processes and projects.

- Coordination and completion of all legislatively mandated reports for the Division of Medicaid, including tracking, ensuring timely completion and review.  All reports should be prepared in a manner ready for Agency Secretary review at least three days prior to the submission deadline.  Manage preparation of specifically assigned legislatively mandated reports, as assigned, including coordination with policy and program staff, research regarding Medicaid policy, other state and/or federal policy; drafting final report and ensuring timely completion, review and submission of such reports.

 - Compiling data, outlining research and analyzing data regarding Medicaid expenditures, program enrollment, utilization trends, provider enrollment, and other data produced by the Agency for routine reports and responses to inquiries received from the Legislature, Media, and other external entities.

- Other duties and special projects as required by supervisor.

 

This position will only be filled at the salary of $2,210.45 biweekly and is non-negotiable.

 

This is an anticipated vacancy.

 

This position is not a remote or telework position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

- Four years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering, and/or administrative work.

 

- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is highly preferred.

- A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

- Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
