This position may require extensive travel, including significant overnight travel. 


Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.


The primary function of this position is to provide a high level of professional expertise to a complex multi-program survey process.  This survey process will include all responsibilities for the certification requirements to participate under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).  This position will be required to conduct on-site inspections of clinical laboratories, performing these duties as a team member or individually as assigned.  The incumbent will document findings and complete written reports of survey findings. Other duties may include inspections of other health care providers and development of technical reports and training, as assigned. 


The incumbent must be proficient with computer equipment and software programs, such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as smart phone technology.


The incumbent must also be available to work before and after normal work hours including weekends and holidays. 



-Knowledge of the terminology, principles, techniques and equipment used in clinical analysis and testing.

-Knowledge of the methods of data collection.

-Ability to effectively communicate with professional laboratory personnel and providers of laboratory services.

-Ability to work independently.

-Ability to analyze data and compile reports, and knowledge of laboratory operations.

-Ability to understand and apply rules and regulations relating to clinical laboratories.

-Ability to utilize microcomputer equipment and software to enter, retrieve and manipulate data required to perform licensure and certification functions.

-Ability to lift a laptop/ tablet computer and work manuals.



-Two or more years of experience working with medical laboratory procedures in a medical laboratory.

- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Biological Science or Clinical Laboratory.

- Preference given to an American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensed in the State of Florida, or a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
