This is a full-time Career Service position, with regularly scheduled hours of Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This Government Operations Consultant I is anticipated to be filled at a rate of $1,550.80 bi-weekly and is non-negotiable.
This position may involve travel related activities from 1-15%.
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.
A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time sensitive.
The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time.
The Florida Medicaid program is one of the five largest in the country with an estimated $38 billion annual budget. Each month Florida Medicaid covers medical services for over 5 million recipients.
To effectively serve this large patient population, one of the Agency goals is to ensure fewer budgeted dollars are lost to fraud, abuse, and waste.
The Bureau of Medicaid Program Integrity (MPI) does this specifically through audits and investigations of Medicaid providers, including managed care plans.
MPI also imposes administrative sanctions for program violations and refers suspected fraud or other criminal violations to appropriate law enforcement agencies for further investigation.
MPI operates with dynamic and fast-paced units that work closely together to serve the overall bureau mission.
MPI units are responsible for developing novel methods and innovative solutions necessary to address the complexity and scope of fraudulent and abusive behavior in the Florida Medicaid program.
These highly collaborative units rely on teams with diverse educational and experience backgrounds.
The Government Operations Consultant I will assist the Management Review Specialist maintaining bureau personnel files for current and former employees in accordance with Florida Statutes, Department of State and General Records Schedule retention guidelines.
Provide and maintain personnel activity updates on hiring, vacancies, organizational charts, phone lists, and floor plans. Assisting administrators with onboarding new employees, helping obtain badge and submitting E-NAFs to obtain proper access to drives, printers, and software.
Also, submit E-NAF’s as current employees’ needs change. Coordinates the development and implementation of MPI procedures with offices throughout the Agency (Health Quality Assurance, the Division of Medicaid, Office of the General Counsel), and others.
Liaison activities include meeting and coordination of efforts with internal and external partners related to bureau matters.
The incumbent will be involved in activities of a broader nature within the Agency, including efforts to support the Agency's overall mission and to prevent fraud, abuse, waste, overpayments, or non-compliance in the Florida Medicaid program.
Track and maintain the bureau’s Final Orders and pending cases in litigation.
The incumbent will also be responsible for participating in special projects as assigned and may perform other duties as required.
Serves as Safety Coordinator for the Bureau of MPI.
Scheduling and coordinating meetings as directed. Prepare meeting rooms, handouts, agendas, sign-in forms, and other items as directed. Serves as back-up to processing and distribution of incoming mail.
Performs other duties as required.
The work involves a broad range of advanced level administrative activities to support the bureau's overall operations, including assisting with daily office management, reporting, and other major office functions.
Working with professionals in processing paperwork necessary to facilitate needs and changes crucial to the Bureau's success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
•Two years of experience in a regulatory or health service setting.
•An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute on a year for year basis in a related field such as health law, health science, health services administration, business administration, public administration, sociology, criminology, or a substantially similar discipline.
